Democrat fixer James Carville tried to sling mud at Melania Trump. It blew up in his face. After a legal demand from the First Lady’s attorney, Carville yanked the offending video, edited his podcast, and issued a public apology. Even liberal media outlets are now walking back the lie.
The mess started with a YouTube clip tied to Carville’s “Politics War Room” podcast. The title told you everything about the smear campaign at work. It read, “James Carville: The EPSTEIN Connection – TRUMP & MELANIA,” a frame designed to smear by insinuation. Melania Trump posted a screenshot of that title on X to make sure no one missed what his team tried to peddle.
Once the First Lady’s lawyer got involved, the veteran Democrat operative backed down fast. On his latest episode, Carville opened with a mea culpa and described what happened next. He said, “In last week’s podcast episode, we spoke with Jud Legum. After the episode, we received a letter from Melania Trump’s lawyer. He took issue with our title of one of those YouTube videos from that episode and a couple of comments I made about the first lady.”
