A frightening scene unfolded Thursday morning at Old Dominion University in Norfolk after a gunman opened fire inside a campus building, leaving two people injured before the suspect was ultimately killed. The incident triggered panic among students and staff and forced the university to shut down operations for the remainder of the day.
According to officials at Old Dominion University, the violence broke out shortly before 11 a.m. inside Constant Hall, a busy academic building frequently used for classes and exams. Authorities say the gunman began firing inside the building at approximately 10:50 a.m., sending students scrambling for safety and prompting an immediate emergency response.
University officials confirmed that two individuals were wounded during the shooting. Both victims were quickly transported to a nearby hospital for treatment. At the time of the university’s initial statement, their conditions had not yet been publicly disclosed, leaving many in the campus community anxiously awaiting updates.
