For the fourth year in a row, California’s population is declining, per the U.S. Counties. People are leaving the state in droves, drawn by its Democratic supermajority government and almost one-party system of governance.
The number of people leaving the area has risen to almost half a million in the last two years, despite a recent slowdown in the exodus. Surprisingly, despite the influx of 126,000 new immigrants, there has been a net loss.

As reported by The Washington Free Beacon, California GOP chairwoman Jessica Millan Patterson said,
“People are fleeing our state in droves. While the red states [that Democratic governor Gavin] Newsom loves to hate continue to grow in population, California’s sky-high cost of living, surging crime, homeless crisis, and failing schools aren’t a very compelling case for why people should stay here.”
She delivered a harsh critique of Gavin Newsom for his handling of California’s homelessness crisis during an interview with Good Morning San Diego. She charges him with statewide incompetence, saying he has been ineffectual and has even made the situation worse.
WATCH:
Millan Patterson noted in a follow-up post that in the past five years, Governor Newsom has allotted a whopping $20 billion to address the homelessness crisis. Nevertheless, under Newsom’s dubious leadership, the situation has gotten worse because of his ineffectual measures.
According to Fox News, Texas and Florida saw substantial population growth in 2023. Florida saw an increase of 365,205 residents, whereas Texas welcomed an impressive 473,453 new residents. According to a recent Fox News report, the states with the fastest rates of growth in the country were Florida and South Carolina.
With the exception of California, the population of seven states decreased. Hawaii, Illinois, Louisiana, New York, Oregon, Pennsylvania, and West Virginia are these states.

Recent U.S. data indicates that… Census, there is more proof to back up the assertions made by Chris Dorsey of Fortune in 2021 and ZeroHedge in 2022 about the growing division and migration patterns of the American people. It appears that people are relocating for political reasons in addition to employment and educational opportunities. Geographic polarization is a trend that is only becoming stronger.
It is anticipated that the population shift will have a big impact on politics. For instance, California suffered a historic event when it lost its first-ever congressional seat in the 2020 election. Experts predict that this trend might continue in the future, with estimates suggesting that following the 2030 census and redistricting, California might lose up to five more seats.
