Recently, Democratic Governor Gavin Newsom of California approved legislation outlawing the carrying of weapons in almost all public areas.
Thank goodness, the recently signed bill was halted by the courts.

A federal court in December temporarily overturned a recently enacted California law that forbade the carrying of weapons in almost all public areas.
“The law signed by Gov. Gavin Newsom in September was set to take effect Jan. 1. It would have prohibited people from carrying concealed guns in 26 places including public parks and playgrounds, churches, banks and zoos. The ban would apply whether the person has a permit to carry a concealed weapon or not. One exception would be for privately owned businesses that put up signs saying people are allowed to bring guns on their premises.” As reported by AP earlier.
President Bush nominated US District Judge Cormac Carney, who upheld the ban and delivered a caustic ruling.
Judge Carney referred to the legislation, which Democratic Governor Gavin Newsom of California signed, as a “sweeping, repugnant to the Second Amendment, and openly defiant of the Supreme Court.”
Guns would not have been allowed in 26 public places, including banks, zoos, churches, and parks, as of January 1. Additionally, it would not have allowed anyone carrying concealed weapons into certain locations.
Under communist rule, California has seen a spike in crime, with numerous smash-and-grab events going mostly unpunished because of the passivity of dishonest authorities.
