Buc-ee’s founder Arch “Beaver” Aplin III had a message for blue-state politicians — and he delivered it without much subtlety.
At the grand opening of the company’s newest location in Benton, Arkansas, Aplin offered a glimpse into what could shape Buc-ee’s next wave of expansion. His comments suggested that states with conservative leadership, business-friendly policies and a workforce aligned with the company’s culture have a major advantage when it comes to landing new Buc-ee’s locations.
And for states struggling to attract businesses, his message should serve as a warning.
