Former President Donald Trump has finally given the clearest signal yet about who he wants to carry the torch for the Republican Party once he steps aside.
But instead of uniting his America First movement, Trump’s choice is already sparking unease among his most loyal supporters.
In a revealing Fox News interview, Trump gave Vice President JD Vance what many consider the most significant political nod for 2028 so far — and floated a running mate idea that’s leaving some conservatives on edge.
Speaking with Fox’s Peter Doocy, Trump didn’t mince words when asked if Vance was next in line to lead the MAGA movement.
“Well, I think most likely. In all fairness, he’s the vice president,” Trump said.
