KHOU 11’s Jeremy Rogalski and other independent sources have reported that authorities have confirmed that the gunman is 36-year-old transgender immigrant from El Salvador named Genesse Ivonne Moreno.
Records from the Texas Department of Public Safety show that Moreno, who was originally known as Jeffrey Escalante, has a criminal history that dates back to 2005.

Charges include refusal to stop and give information, assault of a public worker, assault resulting in bodily harm, forgery, possession of marijuana, theft, avoiding arrest, and unauthorized carrying of a firearm are all included in his long criminal history.
Witnesses describe Moreno surprisingly entering the church with a youngster in tow, carrying a bag, clad in a trench coat, and loaded with a long gun.
The transgender shooter’s AR15 had a “Free Palestine” insignia, according to a previous story from The Gateway Pundit.
During a press conference, Houston Police Chief Troy Finner disclosed that Moreno entered the facility around 2:00 pm with a youngster, who was estimated to be between 4 and 5 years old, and started shooting.
