Greg Abbott, the governor of Texas, proclaims a border “invasion” and places the blame on Mexican drug gangs. The governor takes an aggressive position against the escalating security problem and the rise in criminal activity coming from the neighboring countries.
“I officially declared an invasion at our border because of Biden’s policies. We deployed the Texas National Guard, DPS & local law enforcement. We are building a border wall, razor wire & marine barriers. We are also repelling migrants,” Thursday’s announcement was made by Governor Abbott.
“Texas will continue to install more razor wire and fortify the border against illegal crossings. We will not back down,” following the Biden administration’s cutting of the implanted razor wires, Abbott made another X post.
The razor wires were cut on Wednesday by the Biden administration, “opening the floodgates to illegal immigrants.”

The Governor’s letter states, “The federal government’s failure has forced me to invoke Article I, § 10, Clause 3 of the U.S. Constitution, thereby enabling the State of Texas to protect its own territory against invasion by the Mexican drug cartels.”

Texas’ constitutional right to take action on its own terms is proclaimed in the governor’s letter. The letter expresses Texas’ intention to stop illegal immigration by repelling and sending back anyone who attempt to enter through unapproved border crossings in accordance with Article I, Section 10, Clause 3. It also underscores the desire to catch offenders who violate Texas law.
“We are refusing to let them in and sending them back,” said Abbott.
The Governor’s letter ends with a harsh criticism of the Biden administration’s inaction: “Your open-border policies, which have catalyzed an unprecedented crisis of illegal immigration, are the sole cause of Texas having to invoke our constitutional authority to defend ourselves.”
Abbott’s decision to declare an invasion of Texas was praised by Elon Musk, who said, “No other choice. The influx is so gigantic that it is overwhelming even major cities like New York.”
