According to US Navy data cited by Nikkei Asia, amid rising tensions in the Middle East, over 12,000 US Navy and Marine Corps troops and 10 vessels are deploying to the Eastern Mediterranean.
A major plan to bolster the US military in the Middle East is unveiled by Defense Secretary Lloyd J. Austin III.
The Central Command region has received the carrier strike group of the USS Dwight D. Eisenhower. This tactical action supports the deployment of the USS Gerald R. Ford Carrier Strike Group, the biggest and most technologically sophisticated nuclear aircraft carrier in our Navy, which is now taking place in the Eastern Mediterranean Sea.
With the addition of the USS Dwight D. Eisenhower Carrier Strike Group to the USS Gerald R. Ford group, there are now 10 American warships in the area.

Around 2,000 troops were placed on alert last week by Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin to “be ready to deploy.”
Within 24 hours of getting the order, the soldiers will be prepared for deployment in the Eastern Mediterranean, according to FOX News.
This directive was sent only a few days after a Marine Corps special operations unit left early from training that were supposed to go through October 22 “as a result of emerging events.”
Austin issued orders to “prepare to deploy” an undefined number of American soldiers on Saturday.

“I have placed an additional number of forces on prepare to deploy orders as part of prudent contingency planning, to increase their readiness and ability to quickly respond as required,” Austin said in a statement.
