Jasmine Crockett entered the Texas Senate race with big ambitions, hoping to rally Democrats across the state. Instead, she’s facing an unexpected challenge: skepticism from her own party.
Even liberal voices are warning donors that Crockett’s campaign could be a costly mistake. Former Saturday Night Live star Bowen Yang and his Las Culturistas podcast co-host Matt Rogers delivered a blunt message this week: Democrats should think twice before funding her campaign.
During the podcast’s “I Don’t Think So Honey” segment, Rogers didn’t hold back. He slammed politicians who prioritize their personal brand over voters.
“Anytime a politician is making it too obviously about themselves, I’m already done,” Rogers said. Then he turned his focus squarely on Crockett. “And don’t waste your money sending to Jasmine Crockett. Do not do it.”
Yang didn’t hesitate to agree. “I must agree,” he added, emphasizing that Crockett’s appeal may be too narrow for statewide success.
Rogers reinforced the warning by sharing his own experience with Democratic campaigns that failed despite massive funding. “Don’t do it. Don’t. You’re going to waste your money. Take it from someone who sent Sara Gideon a ton of money in Maine. Just don’t do it. Don’t waste your money. Don’t do it,” he said.
