BOOM! Disney Boss Shocks ‘The View’ with Trump Reveal

A source familiar with the situation told The Post, “ABC executives constantly have conversations with talent based on viewer feedback, and this instance was no different.”

The hosts were allegedly told to create more “balance of the show” and “balance of the topics,” though executives insisted there was no specific crackdown on Trump content. Nevertheless, the timing and nature of the push suggest otherwise.

Still, the show planned to continue discussing Trump’s interactions with world leaders, including his recent meeting with the South African president, and the Pentagon’s controversial acceptance of a luxury Qatari jet to be used as a future Air Force One.

Since Trump’s White House comeback, co-hosts Whoopi Goldberg, Joy Behar, Sunny Hostin, Sara Haines, Alyssa Farah Griffin, and Ana Navarro have resumed their regular critiques of Trump-era policies and rhetoric. But Disney’s top brass appear intent on changing the tone.

Karamehmedovic reportedly met with the cast and producers to suggest they pivot toward a broader mix of content—emphasizing celebrity interviews, lifestyle topics, and lighter fare, which tend to score better ratings.

The proposal was framed as a suggestion, not a mandate, but insiders say the panel wasn’t thrilled. Navarro and other hosts reportedly pushed back hard, arguing that viewers come to “The View” for strong political opinions—especially with the nation facing mounting political instability.

“This is what our audience wants,” one insider said, paraphrasing the hosts’ reaction. “Isn’t it gonna look kind of bad if we’re all of a sudden not talking about politics?”

Despite executive pressure, it appears the show’s cast plans to continue “doing their thing,” according to the same source.

The tension at ABC reflects a broader conflict brewing between Disney and Trump’s political orbit. In December, Disney reached a $16 million settlement—$15 million of which will go toward Trump’s presidential library—after a lawsuit stemming from ABC anchor George Stephanopoulos mischaracterizing a civil ruling against Trump as a rape conviction, rather than sexual assault.

Trump is also suing CBS and its parent company, Paramount Global, for $20 billion over a controversial “60 Minutes” interview with then-Vice President Kamala Harris. Though CBS has dismissed the lawsuit as baseless, it has entered mediation—likely to avoid further friction as the network pursues a pending merger with Skydance Media.

The fallout has already claimed scalps in high places. “60 Minutes” executive producer Bill Owens has retired, and CBS News President Wendy McMahon has also stepped down.

Now, with “The View” at the center of another battle in the media warzone, Disney’s attempt to muzzle political commentary is unlikely to go unnoticed by viewers—or voters.
