Property records reviewed by local media identify the home as belonging to Conan Harris, the husband of Rep. Ayanna Pressley. The residence is a large two-story property featuring seven bedrooms and dates back to 1910.
The home, located in Boston’s Mattapan section, carries an assessed value of more than $919,000. Records indicate the property had recently been placed on the market with an asking price of approximately $1.15 million. The listing had reportedly been active for about a month before police were called to the scene.
The property has operated as a rental home for years, with tenants residing there for an extended period. Following Saturday’s discovery, portions of the property were cordoned off with crime scene tape as investigators began examining the scene.
Images from the area showed the home’s blue exterior, white picket fence, and a “for sale” sign standing prominently in the front yard. Realtor Chantae Turner, who is handling the sale of the property, confirmed the home had recently been listed and described the situation as unfortunate.
In a statement released after news of the investigation became public, a spokesperson for Rep. Pressley’s office expressed sympathy for those affected by the incident.
“The congresswoman extends her deepest condolences to the impacted family,” a spokesperson for the congresswoman’s office said in a statement.
The office also emphasized that the residence is a rental property.
Adding another layer to the timeline, local reports noted that Conan Harris had appeared at a public event earlier the same day. Before police responded to the Malta Street address, Harris reportedly attended a renaming ceremony at the Shaw-Roxbury Branch Library, where he delivered remarks on behalf of Rep. Pressley.
Meanwhile, investigators continued working to piece together the events that led to the discovery. Authorities have not publicly identified the deceased individual, nor have they released information regarding the cause and manner of death.
