The fact that Border Patrol saw 20,000 Chinese illegal immigrants in all sectors in fiscal year 2024—a sharp rise from only 450 in fiscal year 2021—makes this even more concerning.

There has been an increase of unauthorized crossings in the San Diego region, especially in Jacumba, a desert area in eastern San Diego County. A breach in the border wall has emerged as a preferred site of entry for migrants, who frequently pass through it after being dropped off by smugglers.
“Inexplicably, the Biden admin has made no effort to fill or fix this small gap.” Melugin posted to X.
