West sent a Hebrew-language apology to the Jewish community on his Instagram account in December for a number of anti-Semitic remarks he had made, including one in which he praised Adolf Hitler.
Not all well-known personalities in the entertainment sector have been involved in anti-Semitic issues, including West.
During the “Cannon’s Class” podcast episode that aired on June 30, 2020, Nick Cannon made anti-Semitic statements that caused outrage.
Cannon addressed a number of conspiracy theories regarding Jews in the show, and he also made controversial remarks about racial superiority and the claim that “black people are the true Hebrews,” among other things.
ViacomCBS issued a statement after the interview saying “The company’s relationship with Cannon is now terminated.”
Cannon apologized for his remarks on “X” less than a month later. “First and foremost I extend my deepest and most sincere apologies to my Jewish sisters and brothers for the hurtful and divisive words that came out of my mouth during my interview with Richard Griffin.” He added, “They reinforced the worst stereotypes of a proud and magnificent people and I feel ashamed of the uninformed and naïve place that these words came from. The video of this interview has since been removed.”
