The leftist talk show personality Bill Maher stunned everyone with his praise for Ron DeSantis, the Republican governor of Florida.
DeSantis appeared on the “Real Time with Bill Maher” talk show episode that was broadcast on Friday.

The exchange between Maher and DeSantis had a cordial tone, but he was able to sneak in some subtle shots at Republican leaders like Kari Lake. Maher repeatedly questioned DeSantis during the exchange.
We grilled the governor about the validity of the 2020 election as well as his dismal presidential campaign and debate performances.
In the video on Maher’s YouTube site, a fascinating dialogue in which Maher candidly accepts DeSantis’ accurate judgment of the country’s handling of COVID-19 is revealed.
“You keep wanting to get back to [the topic of COVID-19], and I don’t blame you,” Maher told DeSantis. “Because you’re right. We’re on the same page there.
“I think it’s unfair what they did to you because you did handle it better. You did handle it better.
“You were right. You were like, let’s … protect the people who are most vulnerable. And everybody else can go on with their lives.”
Maher praises DeSantis’ initiative to reinstate classroom instruction, once more conceding that the Florida governor was “more right.”

Maher’s assertion that DeSantis deserved greater praise for his COVID-19 response was refuted by GOP presidential aspirant.
“It’s not about credit for me, though,” Over audience cheers, DeSantis remarked. “It’s about them admitting that they were wrong.
“Because they are setting us up. If this happened again, they would repeat the same playbook all over again, and if we don’t have accountability, that’s what’s going to happen.
“So I’ll bring accountability so it never happens in our country again.”
Real Clear Politics’ most recent polling shows former president Donald Trump leading DeSantis by a massive 43.9 points in the GOP primary contest.
Nikki Haley, a former governor of South Carolina, and businessman Vivek Ramaswamy are ranked third and fourth, respectively, closely behind DeSantis.
