Unquestionably, House Speaker Mike Johnson shows that Joe Biden is not really in charge of the nation.
Regarding Biden’s immigration policies, the Louisiana Republican stated in an interview on Fox Business on Friday, “I’m not sure Joe Biden is actually making these decisions.”

Johnson expressed his belief that Biden’s staff was impeding his ability to take executive action to secure the U.S. border with Mexico to Maria Bartiromo on “Mornings with Maria.”
Johnson persisted in pressuring the president to restart building the border wall and bring back the “Remain in Mexico” policy, which was a pillar of former President Donald Trump’s administration.
Though Johnson and Trump have informed Biden that he already has everything required to secure the border, Biden maintains that he lacks the authority to take those steps.
“He knows that he has the authority,” Johnson said. “We’ve documented it for him.
“I’ve read to him the law myself — to the president,” he added. “Read him the provisions of the law and said, ‘Mr. President, please take action.’”
Biden is adamant that Congress must take action before he can.
“I don’t think he’s allowed to do it,” Johnson speculated.

“I’m not sure Joe Biden is actually making these decisions,” he added. “I think it’s staff around him, and they’re pushing him to hold the — or to keep the border open.”
Biden’s inability to take executive action on the border delays progress until after the November election, casting doubt on the future of the border deal with aid to Ukraine in the Republican-controlled House.
“They’ve been trying to work this deal. We’ve heard rumor about it, reports about it. But even as we sit here this morning, Maria, I’ve never seen the text,” Johnson said Friday.
If the claims are true, Johnson says the deal is “dead on arrival” in the House.
Is this a better deal than anticipated? Johnson expressed skepticism but is still open to the possibility.
“Devilry lurks in the details.” We’ll investigate,” Johnson said to Bartiromo. “I’ve told them the essential components of HR, but I’m not passing judgment on anything. To seize control of the border, two things are needed.
“I’ve been consistent, and that’s our standard,” he said. “We’ll be looking for that.”
The Democratic majority leader in the Senate, Charles Schumer, has prevented a vote on H.R. two senators. He did, however, say that this weekend will see the release of the newly negotiated deal’s details.
