Biden in Deep Water: Counsel’s Unexpected Move!

Recently revealed are President Biden’s latest deeds committed amid the current Middle Eastern conflict. He decided to make the interview with Special Counsel Robert Hur his top priority rather than discussing the unrest in Israel and Gaza. His dedication to taking care of critical things is called into doubt by this disclosure. Biden’s decision was supported by Ian Sams, a spokesman for the White House, who said that the interviews are proof of his cooperation with the inquiry.

“The president has been interviewed as part of the investigation being led by Special Counsel Robert Hur,” stated the spokesperson.

“The voluntary interview was conducted at the White House over two days, Sunday and Monday, and concluded Monday. As we have said from the beginning, the president and the White House are cooperating with this investigation, and as it has been appropriate, we have provided relevant updates publicly, being as transparent as we can consistent with protecting and preserving the integrity of the investigation. We would refer other questions to the Justice Department at this time,” he added.

Comparatively speaking to the investigations against the former Vice President Pence and the former President Trump, the investigation into President Biden’s handling of secret materials is moving more slowly.

Hur was chosen as a special counsel by Attorney General Merrick Garland in January as a result of the finding of sensitive materials in the President’s former office and home.

In January of this year, Biden declared that he was “cooperating fully and completely” with the DOJ’s inquiry.

Pence cleaned his reputation by helping federal investigators and disclosing information about how he handled secret material.

The inquiry into how secret papers were handled by Trump is progressing. Important witnesses have appeared before federal grand juries after the FBI investigated his Mar-a-Lago home in Palm Beach in August.

Trump attempts to draw comparisons between his handling of confidential materials and the inquiries into Pence and Biden.

According to Biden’s advisors, his situation is distinct from Trump’s. When secret papers were discovered in Biden’s office, he promptly returned them to the government and voluntarily allowed federal agents to examine his homes for more. In contrast, Trump opposed the FBI’s attempts to acquire papers, and they ultimately needed a warrant to do so.

In an effort to assure justice between the current and previous presidents, Garland chose to appoint a special counsel in Biden’s case, which angered Biden’s staff. However, no special counsel was chosen to handle the Pence probe.

The Justice Department’s decision to end the investigation into Pence and conclude there was no wrongdoing infuriated Biden’s staff, who expressed their displeasure in private.

In June, after a meeting with his attorneys and representatives from the Justice Department, Trump posted on his Truth Social social media page, writing in all caps: “How can DOJ possibly charge me, who did nothing wrong, when no other presidents were charged, when Joe Biden won’t be charged for anything.” He called the probe into how he handled top-secret information “the greatest witch hunt of all time.”

Privately, Biden advisers fear that Special Counsel Hur would exonerate the vice president of any crime while publicly criticizing him for being negligent with sensitive information. They have this worry because of what they recall James Comey, a former FBI director, saying about how Hillary Clinton handled secret material during the 2016 campaign.

Donald Trump, a former president, asks that the misuse of confidential material trial be postponed until after the 2024 presidential election.

The former president’s appeal for a less divisive schedule to handle the criminal matter is rejected by Special Counsel Jack Smith.

“The defendants make numerous allegations regarding their access to classified discovery arising from the status of secure facilities, their clearances, and other considerations. Most of the allegations are inaccurate or incomplete; collectively they are misleading,” Smith’s office argued in a court document submitted on Monday that the case should proceed to trial in May of 2019 as scheduled.
