San Francisco Giants catcher Patrick Bailey just delivered one of the most unforgettable plays baseball has seen in nearly a century—and the entire sports world is still reeling.

Facing a 3-1 deficit against the high-flying Philadelphia Phillies, the Giants looked all but finished as they came up to bat in the bottom of the ninth inning. With two outs already recorded and a two-run gap to overcome, fans in the stands were bracing for another tough loss.

Then, something absolutely miraculous happened.

After a leadoff double by Casey Schmitt, followed by a pop-out and a clutch single from Wilmer Flores, runners were suddenly on the corners. And with the game on the line, Patrick Bailey—who had been quiet at the plate all night—stepped up to bat.
