The political battlefield heated up this week after President Trump unleashed a scathing new video targeting Chicago’s leadership — specifically Mayor Brandon Johnson and Illinois Governor J.B. Pritzker. The former president didn’t mince words, calling Chicago “a mess,” accusing Johnson of being “grossly incompetent,” and blasting Pritzker for turning a blind eye to the chaos engulfing the city.
In the fiery message, Trump zeroed in on what he calls the real root of Chicago’s downward spiral: the Biden administration’s border failures. “This open borders nightmare flooded our country with fentanyl and with people that shouldn’t be here, some of the worst people on earth,” Trump declared. He warned Americans that the city is now facing what he described as the “largest law enforcement challenge” the nation has ever seen.
The warnings didn’t just come from Trump. Pastor Corey Brooks, a well-known South Side community leader, took to Fox & Friends to back up Trump’s concerns with grim statistics. “We’ve had 254 deaths in 233 days,” Brooks revealed, slamming city leaders for making promises of safety that he called “an outright lie.”
