Archaeologists Discover Jesus’ “Living Water”!

A newly uncovered section of a 2,000-year-old aqueduct is offering a remarkable glimpse into the engineering achievements, religious traditions and daily life of ancient Jerusalem.

Archaeologists in Israel have brought an extraordinary piece of the ancient world back into view. Beneath the ground south of Kibbutz Ramat Rachel, excavation teams uncovered a 300-meter section of Jerusalem’s historic Lower Aqueduct, a sophisticated water system that once supplied the city and its sacred Temple Mount.

The Israel Antiquities Authority (IAA) announced the discovery on October 11, 2026. The find offers a tangible connection to the Jerusalem of biblical times, when the city served as a major religious center and attracted pilgrims from across the region.

For Christians, the discovery carries an additional layer of significance. The ancient infrastructure operated during the broader historical period associated with Jesus and the Second Temple, providing a striking backdrop for understanding the world in which His teachings were delivered.
