Far-left Democrat Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY) is once again sounding the alarm — not over illegal immigration, crime, or border security, but over the potential consequences facing fellow lawmakers who broke the law. In an unhinged tirade, Ocasio-Cortez lashed out at federal authorities, warning of “hell to pay” if members of Congress are arrested for their role in a chaotic incident at a New Jersey ICE facility.
The chaos began when Newark’s Democrat Mayor Ras Baraka and several New Jersey Democrat representatives — including Reps. LaMonica McIver, Bonnie Watson Coleman, and Rob Menendez — stormed the Delaney Hall ICE detention center without proper clearance. Bodycam footage released over the weekend shows Rep. McIver allegedly berating and even putting her hands on ICE officers during the confrontation.
Mayor Baraka was arrested and charged with criminal trespass. Yet so far, the members of Congress involved have faced no legal repercussions. This has ignited outrage among law-abiding citizens, with critics pointing out that no one — not even an elected official — is above the law.
But rather than calling for accountability, Rep. Ocasio-Cortez took to social media over the weekend to defend her colleagues’ actions and lash out at the Department of Homeland Security (DHS). In an emotional Instagram livestream, she claimed federal agents are targeting Democrats for simply doing their jobs.
