Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez is attempting to put some distance between today’s Democratic Party and the excesses of the progressive “woke” era — but she stopped well short of repudiating the policies that made the movement so controversial in the first place.
During a Sunday appearance with ABC News host Jonathan Karl, the New York Democrat was pressed about Wisconsin gubernatorial candidate Francesca Hong and some of the provocative positions Hong previously promoted.
Those included calls to abolish police and prisons as well as criticism of Thanksgiving.
