Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, D-N.Y., signaled Friday that investigating President Donald Trump and members of his administration would become a major priority if Democrats reclaim control of the House of Representatives following the 2026 midterm elections.
During an appearance on MS NOW’s The Briefing with host Jen Psaki, the New York congresswoman argued that House Democrats could simultaneously pursue legislative priorities while conducting congressional investigations into the Trump administration. She rejected the idea that lawmakers would have to choose one over the other.
The discussion began after Psaki referenced comments from House Speaker Mike Johnson, R-La., who has warned that Democrats would use a House majority to launch investigations into Trump, Cabinet officials, political allies, and donors.
