Ilhan Omar has spent years casting herself as a victim while openly attacking the very country that rescued her from a refugee camp. The Minnesota congresswoman lectures Americans about constitutional principles, yet she consistently defends terrorists and traffics in antisemitic tropes that eventually got her removed from the House Foreign Affairs Committee.
Now, Omar’s latest exchange with former President Donald Trump lays bare her true feelings toward the nation she claims to serve.
Trump Calls Out Omar’s Pattern of Lecturing Americans
On Monday night, Trump appeared on Fox News Channel’s The Ingraham Angle and delivered a scathing assessment of Omar. While speaking about Democrats, he turned his attention to the Minnesota lawmaker who fled Somalia’s civil war as a child.
“I look at somebody that comes from Somalia, who, where they don’t have anything,” Trump said. “They don’t have police, they don’t have military, they don’t have anything. All they have is crime. And she comes in and tells us how to run our country.”¹
Trump then mimicked Omar’s style, adopting a mocking tone: “The Constitution says this, the Constitution says… The whole thing is crazy.”²
