“I want to say President Joe Biden has been slow in providing military resources to Ukraine. I mean they promised 33 Abrams tanks back in January, they’re still waiting on them. We’re still, we’re waiting on F-16s to be transferred from somewhere,” Pence said.

Tensions in the region have only gotten worse as long as Russia and Ukraine are still at war. In response, the US has intervened to assist Ukraine through a variety of means, including monetary, non-lethal, and lethal military help. Since Russia’s annexation of Crimea in 2014, this support has been continuous and is still crucial to attempts to uphold peace and stability in the region.
Since the beginning of the Biden administration, the United States has provided substantial help totaling more than $50 billion to strengthen Ukraine’s military capabilities. Important supplies including artillery shells, air defense systems, drone ammunition, and tools to connect Western air defense launchers, missiles, and radars with Ukraine’s current systems are also part of this help package. Most recently, a $1.2 billion aid package was earmarked for bolstering their artillery and air defenses. The US is still committed to helping to defend and secure Ukraine.
