In what many are calling an attempt to silence dissenting voices, Vice President Kamala Harris and President Joe Biden pushed forward with criminal charges against Steve Bannon, former Trump advisor and popular host of the “War Room” podcast. But instead of quieting Bannon, the move seems to have energized him. Now, fresh out of prison, Bannon is issuing warnings about the next four years and the fallout he expects for mainstream media.
Throughout the 2024 presidential campaign, Bannon, a staunch advocate for Donald Trump, was repeatedly a target of what he describes as “weaponized” tactics by the Biden administration. As Bannon’s “War Room” podcast grew in popularity, calling out perceived media bias and corruption, he claims he became a target of government-led efforts to silence him. As a result, Bannon faced jail time for defying a Congressional subpoena—a charge the Obama administration notably declined to pursue against former Attorney General Eric Holder.

For Bannon and his supporters, this prosecution was part of a larger strategy by the Left to silence those who oppose their agenda. “They believe in censoring and silencing the opposition,” Bannon asserts, noting that the traditional media’s reach over social media is dwindling, especially following Elon Musk’s acquisition of Twitter. The incarceration of political opponents, Bannon argues, is the latest and most extreme method in the Left’s arsenal.
