The DeSantis “no vax” bill expressly states that the state of Florida may now issue a directive for a person to:

“… to be examined, tested, vaccinated, treated, isolated, or quarantined for communicable diseases that have significant morbidity or mortality and present a severe danger to public health. Individuals who are unable or unwilling to be examined, tested, vaccinated, or treated for reasons of health, religion, or conscience may be subjected to isolation or quarantine.”
Like the New York measure, the DeSantis “no vax” bill goes on to say that if someone in Florida is considered a “danger to the public health,” they can be detained by the State Health Officer and placed in isolation or quarantine.
DeSantis’s conflicting rhetoric has misled a lot of conservatives over the years, but in my opinion, he is a greater tyrant than Hochul and other Democratic governors. Thankfully, New York does not yet possess a “antisemitism” measure that would trample on the First Amendment, which is another tenet of DeSantis’ despotic rule in Florida.
“If there is no practical method to isolate or quarantine the individual, the State Health Officer may use any means necessary to vaccinate or treat the individual,” the DeSantis “no vax” The bill goes on to say that residents of Florida may now be required to get vaccinations if the state determines that there is no means to quarantine or isolate them.
