“Amazingly Hypocritical” Virginia Christian Group Denied Service

An group of Christians in Virginia is struggling with the increasing tide of prejudice after being turned away from a restaurant because of their religious convictions. The head of the organization has openly denounced this discriminatory action in support of everyone’s freedom to follow their faith without hindrance or retribution.

According to Fox News Digital, Victoria Cobb, president of the Family Foundation of Virginia, a Christian lobbying organization, was shocked when her members abruptly got a call canceling their private event at Richmond’s Metzger Bar and Butchery only hours before it was scheduled to start.

Cobb was forced to cancel his group reservation after learning that the waitstaff had looked into their organization, which supports family values based on Biblical beliefs, and refused to provide service.

It’s alarming and disgraceful that a restaurant has a religious or political litmus test for who gets in the door,” Cobb shared a critical concern with Fox News Digital. “I think people will find that very disturbing.”

Due to their political and religious activism, Metzger Bar & Butchery openly dissociated themselves from a foundation, cancelling the reservation.

“Metzger Bar and Butchery has always prided itself on being an inclusive environment for people to dine in,” said the post. “In eight years of service, we have very rarely refused service to anyone who wished to dine with us.  Recently we refused service to a group that had booked an event with us after the owners of Metzger found out it was a group of donors to a political organization that seeks to deprive women and LGBTQ+ persons of their basic human rights in Virginia.”

The article also said that the eatery “always refused service to anyone for making our staff uncomfortable” which was the “driving force” guiding the choice.

“Many of our staff are women and/or members of the LGBTQ+ community. All of our staff are people with rights who deserve dignity and a safe work environment.  We respect our staff’s established rights as humans and strive to create a work environment where they can do their jobs with dignity, comfort and safety.”

Cobb’s group spoke out in defense of decency and vehemently refuted the restaurant’s insufficient justification.

Metzger Bar & Grill, a Richmond restaurant, took heat after refusing to serve a Christian organization.

Said Cobb. It’s so amazingly hypocritical to pride yourself on creating an inclusive environment and announce that in order to defend how you exclude people from your restaurant,”

Cobb was certain that her company would have given their waiter a memorable dining experience if given the opportunity. “group of very kind people who treated them well and would have tipped them well.”

“Virginia’s discrimination laws do have clear, it could be it could be a very clear violation of religious discrimination,” Cobb said. “Because that’s what you find on our website, that all of our viewpoints are directly and intentionally taken from biblical admonitions and that we’re a faith based organization.”

Since becoming public, the Family Foundation has experienced an assault of fraudulent mails which have been collected by Fox News Digital.

“F*** you, f*** your religion,” the subject line of one mail “kill yourself” stated. “Every single one of you should face retribution.”

Another post used the words “Hail Satan!” and described the group as “bible toting crazies.”

Ms. Cobb is still in a condition of lingering uneasiness since she hasn’t heard from the restaurant since the event and hasn’t received any fresh texts. “happy to chat” with ownership “any time” regarding the circumstance

Fox News Digital reached out to Metzger Bar and Butchery to get their opinion on the matter, but they refused to say anything more than what had already been posted on social media.
