The media is doing everything it can to frame these cuts as an attack on hardworking Americans. House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries went so far as to accuse Trump of leading “an assault on hardworking families.” But their concern for American workers is selective at best. Where was the outcry when Biden destroyed 10,000 blue-collar jobs by canceling the Keystone XL pipeline on his first day in office? Back then, their silence was deafening.
Alina Habba Exposes Media’s Hypocrisy
Stepping in to dismantle the media’s phony narrative, Alina Habba addressed reporters outside the White House. When asked about the layoffs, she didn’t mince words.
“I really don’t feel sorry for them,” Habba said about the dismissed federal employees. “They should get back to work for the American people, like President Trump and this administration.”
A reporter attempted to shift the narrative by pointing out that some of the laid-off employees were military veterans. Suddenly, journalists who rarely advocate for veterans were pretending to care—because it suited their political agenda.
“That’s something the President has always cared about — anybody in blue, anybody that serves this country,” Habba responded. “But at the same time, we have taxpayer dollars, we have a fiscal responsibility to use taxpayer dollars to pay people that actually work.”
The media’s latest spin is that the Trump administration is anti-veteran. But Habba shut that down, making it clear that the administration’s goal is efficiency, not targeting veterans.
“That doesn’t mean that we forget our veterans by any means,” she stated. “We are going to care for them in the right way, but perhaps they’re not fit to have a job at this moment, or not willing to come to work. And we can’t, you know, I wouldn’t take money from you and pay somebody and say, ‘Sorry, you know, they’re not going to come to work.’ It’s just not acceptable.”
No More Government Freebies
Many of these federal employees had been enjoying generous work-from-home privileges since the pandemic. That came to an end when Trump issued an executive order requiring them to return to their offices. Some resisted. Others simply refused to comply.
In one case, a whistleblower exposed a Department of Housing & Urban Development employee who was still drawing a federal paycheck while living in Florida and working as a real estate agent. These are the kinds of abuses that DOGE is putting an end to.
Just Released: Trump White House Collector’s Bobblehead!
Under Trump, government jobs are no longer a guaranteed meal ticket. Federal employees are being treated just like workers in the private sector—they either show up and work or they lose their jobs.
The days of bureaucratic excess and easy paychecks are over. With Trump back in charge, there’s a new sheriff in town, and Washington’s ruling class isn’t happy about it. But for the American people, it’s a long-overdue reality check.
