Deputies with the Starr County Sheriff’s Office were dispatched Saturday after receiving reports of a body dumped along a rural road near Roma, Texas. What they discovered was far worse than expected.
The individual, a Mexican national, was not dead. He was barely alive and in critical condition after being abandoned on the roadside and left to die. Deputies immediately rushed him to a nearby hospital, where doctors fought to stabilize him. Authorities later made contact with the man’s family in Mexico as the investigation widened.
