For years, activist judges have worked to derail Donald Trump’s immigration agenda. But this time, the former president is taking the fight over birthright citizenship directly to the one place they can’t manipulate — the United States Supreme Court.

Trump Puts the Constitution Back on Trial
Donald Trump is making good on his promise to end birthright citizenship for children of illegal immigrants. After a series of lower court rulings blocked his executive order, Trump’s legal team is taking the case to the highest court in the land.
U.S. Solicitor General D. John Sauer filed the official petition last week, asking the Supreme Court to overturn rulings from a New Hampshire federal judge and the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals — both of which claimed the order violated the 14th Amendment.
But Trump’s team argues that these activist courts twisted history.
“The Supreme Court has a compelling interest in ensuring that American citizenship – the privilege that allows us to choose our political leaders – is granted only to those who are lawfully entitled to it,” Sauer wrote.
