Governor Greg Abbott of Texas acts decisively to stop the rising number of undocumented immigrants pouring across the southern border. Abbott takes a risk by giving state peace officers the power to detain and arrest illegal people, paving the way for a confrontation with the Biden Administration.

An appeals court has ruled that Texas must remove its water-based barriers in the Rio Grande, dealing a serious blow to the state. This decision reverses an earlier verdict that had permitted the obstacles to stay in place during the appeal process.
Governor Abbott declares that additional border control measures will be implemented quickly.
“Well, I’ll tell you a couple of things very interesting. For one, the problem is extraordinarily bad. The numbers are high and that is because Joe Biden continues to lay out the welcome mat, welcoming illegal immigrants into the United States of America,” When Bartiromo asked Abbott for his evaluation of the circumstances, he said.
“That said, what we’ve seen in our numbers in the state of Texas is because of the wall that we have built, because of these razor-wide barriers that we have built, Texas is now no longer the number one illegal entry point. And Texas is causing the cartels to have to alter their routes, their routes where people are coming across the border illegally,” he continued. “That said, Texas is having to step up and do even more to make sure that we deny illegal entry into the state of Texas.”
