California Governor Gavin Newsom is facing fresh questions over election integrity after federal prosecutors raised concerns about thousands of potentially ineligible voters appearing in the state’s registration records.
The dispute has escalated into a legal confrontation between federal authorities and California election officials, with the Justice Department seeking action before additional ballots are processed.
At the center of the controversy is a list of approximately 20,000 individuals whom federal investigators believe may not be American citizens.
