The internal document, which was reportedly circulated among senior government officials, paints a bleak picture of public sentiment inside the Islamic Republic. Rather than showing confidence in the current system, the findings suggest widespread frustration with both the nation’s leadership and its economic direction.
According to reporting from IranWire, the report—titled What Iran Wants—was assembled by Ali Rabiei, a senior adviser to President Masoud Pezeshkian and a former government spokesman. The analysis was reportedly based on polling conducted by the Ara Opinion Research Center in May 2026 before being distributed to institutions within Iran’s governing structure the following month.
