A frightening encounter between a Yellowstone National Park visitor and a massive bison has reignited an entirely different debate in Washington.
After a 65-year-old grandfather was violently tossed several feet into the air by one of the park’s iconic animals, Rep. Rudy Yakym (R-IN) introduced legislation aimed at what he argues is an overlooked problem affecting millions of Americans who visit federal lands every year.
Rather than focusing on the behavior of wildlife, Yakym says Congress should address what he believes is an outdated federal law that leaves responsible gun owners vulnerable and exposes them to unnecessary legal risk.
