A Party in Chaos
The Democratic Party has been in a tailspin since the election, with factions turning on one another in an all-out blame game. After failing to reclaim the House, losing the Senate, and watching Trump reclaim the White House, the infighting has only grown louder.
Pelosi has tried to distance herself from the fallout, arguing that Biden’s swift endorsement of Harris made things worse for Democrats. But Fetterman wasn’t having it, blasting Pelosi for clinging to power while demanding change from others.
“I think it’s really ironic that you have a woman at age 84, and she is still hanging on. Why not give a younger generation an opportunity to occupy that seat?” he said, taking a direct shot at Pelosi’s refusal to step aside.
Fetterman: ‘Trump Voters Aren’t Fascists’
Fetterman also pushed back against Democrats who label Trump supporters as “fascists,” warning that this rhetoric is driving voters away.
“I love people that are absolutely going to vote for Trump. They’re not fascists. They’re not those things. I think if you go to the tickle switch, use those kinds of terms, then it’s kind of hard to walk back on those things,” he said.
He argued that Democrats have lost touch with the voters they need to win over. “That’s kind of a word that really isn’t part of the vernacular for voters. Scolding harder or clutching the pearls harder, that’s never going to work for Democrats,” he added.
Pelosi Faces Growing Calls to Step Down
The backlash against Pelosi isn’t just coming from Fetterman.
Teamsters International President Sean O’Brien joined the chorus calling for Pelosi and Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer to step aside after the Democrats’ humiliating losses. Speaking with Fox News’ Neil Cavuto, O’Brien argued that fresh leadership is needed if Democrats want to compete in future elections.
Pelosi’s recent comments on Biden’s withdrawal from the race have only fueled the fire. In an interview with The New York Times, she suggested that Biden stepping down earlier could have given Democrats a better shot at stopping Trump. Now, many are questioning why Pelosi is still holding onto her own power while advocating for others to step aside.
Fetterman Praises Trump’s Stance on Hamas
In a surprising move, Fetterman also found common ground with Trump on foreign policy.
The Pennsylvania senator voiced his support for Trump’s strong warning to Hamas, backing the former president’s demand for the immediate release of hostages.

“You can choose. Release all of the Hostages now, not later, and immediately return all of the dead bodies of the people you murdered, or it is OVER for you,” Trump declared on Truth Social. “I am sending Israel everything it needs to finish the job, not a single Hamas member will be safe if you don’t do as I say.”
Fetterman wasted no time showing his agreement.
“Free all the hostages or start killing Hamas members again. I fully agree with @POTUS,” the senator tweeted.
Fetterman has been one of the few Democrats willing to stand apart from his party’s usual talking points. His criticism of Pelosi, pushback against anti-Trump rhetoric, and support for Israel have made him a rare figure in Washington—one willing to call out his own party’s failures.
As Democrats scramble to pick up the pieces, one thing is clear: the blame game is far from over.
