“Consistent with President @realDonaldTrump’s instructions, all federal employees will shortly receive an email requesting to understand what they got done last week,” Musk posted on X. “Failure to respond will be taken as a resignation.”
Naturally, Democrats and the mainstream media lost their minds. But for most Americans, it was a commonsense approach to government accountability. Why should taxpayers continue funding bloated bureaucracies filled with employees who can’t even articulate what they do?
Trump Brings Musk Into the Fold
The firestorm over the accountability email wasn’t even over before Trump brought Musk into his inner circle. At Wednesday’s meeting, Trump handed Musk the floor to discuss DOGE and the ongoing effort to streamline federal operations.
“DOGE is very important, and Elon is here to give you a summary of what’s happening,” Trump said, setting the stage for Musk’s update.
Musk wasted no time addressing concerns over the controversial emails. He clarified that federal workers who hadn’t yet responded weren’t necessarily fired—but they were on notice.
“We’re going to send another email,” Musk explained. “Our goal is not to be capricious or unfair. We want to give people every opportunity to send an email, and the email could simply be ‘What I’m working on is too sensitive or classified to describe.’”
He added that even a basic response would suffice. “We hope to keep everyone who is doing a job that is essential and doing that job well.”
But Trump made it clear that patience was running out.
“I’d like to add that those million people that haven’t responded though, Elon, they are on the bubble,” Trump said. “You know, I wouldn’t say that we’re thrilled about it, you know, they haven’t responded. Now, maybe they don’t exist, maybe we’re paying people that don’t exist.”
Musk on Trump’s Cabinet: “The Best Ever”
Beyond the conversation about DOGE, Musk stunned attendees by offering his candid opinion on Trump’s Cabinet picks.
“President Trump has put together the best Cabinet ever,” Musk declared. “And I do not give false praise.”
He went further, calling the administration’s leadership team “an incredible group of people.”
“I don’t think such a talented team has ever been assembled,” he added, reinforcing his support for Trump’s vision.

The Media’s Failed Attempt to Divide Trump and Musk
Liberal media outlets have been working overtime to drive a wedge between Musk and Trump. Some outlets have even taken to calling Musk “President Musk,” hoping to stoke jealousy and create a rift between the two powerful figures.
But it’s not working.
Musk and Trump remain united in their mission to drain the swamp, dismantle the Deep State, and restore accountability in Washington. And with Musk now playing a key role in Trump’s second term, the bureaucrats in D.C. have every reason to be nervous.
Change is coming.
