A Norwegian fuel supplier just learned the hard way that playing politics with national security doesn’t end well. Haltbakk Bunkers, a major fuel provider in Norway, attempted to cut off the U.S. military from fuel supplies in protest of President Donald Trump’s America First policies—only for its efforts to collapse in spectacular fashion.
The company’s decision came after a tense exchange between President Trump and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy. Trump, standing firm alongside Vice President J.D. Vance, took Zelenskyy to task for his continued demands for U.S. aid while refusing to engage in serious peace negotiations with Russia.
