As the Obama Presidential Center faces yet another construction delay due to a massive racial discrimination lawsuit, the expected influx of financial support is nowhere to be found.
The $40 million lawsuit, filed by a subcontractor, has added to the growing list of problems plaguing the $830 million project in Chicago. What was supposed to be a proud monument to the nation’s first Black president is now turning into a money pit, and donors who once backed the Obamas enthusiastically are keeping their checkbooks closed.

At the same time, rumors of marital strain between Barack and Michelle Obama continue to swirl. Last month, Page Six reported that Michelle is “totally over DC life” and has been noticeably absent from key political and public events. Her decision to skip Jimmy Carter’s funeral and her refusal to attend Donald Trump’s upcoming inauguration only fueled speculation about her growing distance from her husband’s political engagements.
