Capital One Arena to Host Parade and Live Viewing
President Trump’s team is exploring options to accommodate the large crowd expected to travel to Washington, D.C., to witness the historic event. Among the proposals is a plan to use Capital One Arena as a hub for live viewing and to host the inaugural parade. Trump confirmed he will address the crowd there following his swearing-in.
“We will open Capital One Arena on Monday for LIVE viewing of this Historic event, and to host the Presidential Parade. I will join the crowd at Capital One, after my Swearing In,” the president said in a statement released on Friday.
Safety First Amid Growing Concerns
Officials have expressed concerns about the health risks posed by prolonged exposure to the freezing temperatures for attendees, law enforcement, and first responders. Trump emphasized the importance of safety in his statement:
“January 20th cannot come fast enough! Everybody, even those that initially opposed a Victory by President Donald J. Trump and the Trump Administration, just want it to happen. It is my obligation to protect the People of our Country but, before we even begin, we have to think of the Inauguration itself… I don’t want to see people hurt, or injured, in any way.”
The president reassured supporters that moving the event indoors would not diminish the grandeur of the occasion, calling it “a very beautiful experience for all, and especially for the large TV audience.”
A Packed Schedule Remains Intact
Despite the relocation, all other planned events remain on schedule. The Victory Rally is set for Sunday at 3 P.M. at Capital One Arena, with doors opening at 1 P.M. Monday evening will feature the traditional three inaugural balls, where Trump will celebrate with supporters and dignitaries.

Heightened Security Measures
Concerns over Trump’s safety have been elevated following recent assassination attempts. Former Secret Service Agent Dan Bongino highlighted the risks in a recent podcast, underscoring the importance of stringent security protocols during the ceremony. Moving the swearing-in indoors is seen as an added layer of precaution to protect both the president and the tens of thousands of supporters expected to attend.
Looking Ahead
President Trump’s decision to adapt the inauguration plans showcases his commitment to ensuring the safety and comfort of all participants. With temperatures dropping to potentially dangerous levels, the relocation to the Capitol Rotunda provides a solution that allows the historic event to proceed without risking public health. As Trump himself said, “Everyone will be safe, everyone will be happy, and we will, together, MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN!”
