Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis, one of former President Donald Trump’s most vocal adversaries, has faced a significant setback in her case against the former president. The Georgia Court of Appeals has effectively disqualified Willis and her office from prosecuting Trump, bringing what many have called a politically charged investigation to an abrupt halt.
The Georgia Court of Appeals ruled that Willis and her office could not continue their involvement in the case, citing a conflict of interest that stemmed from her personal and professional conduct.

“After carefully considering the trial court’s findings in its order, we conclude that it erred by failing to disqualify DA Willis and her office,” stated the majority opinion of the court.
