The measure, which Trump had passionately endorsed, sought to fund the government while addressing key conservative priorities.

Earlier this week, Trump rallied GOP support for the bill, calling it “VITAL to the America First Agenda.” He praised Speaker Mike Johnson’s leadership, describing the proposed American Relief Act of 2024 as a major win for farmers, hurricane victims, and fiscal stability. Trump also highlighted the bill’s provision to extend the debt ceiling deadline to January 30, 2027.

Trump did not hold back against those who defied his call for unity, singling out Representative Chip Roy (R-TX) for criticism. In a fiery statement, Trump referred to Roy as “very unpopular” and accused him of prioritizing self-promotion over party loyalty. “Weak and ineffective people like Chip have to be dismissed,” Trump wrote. “By the way, how’s Bob Good doing? I hope some talented challengers are getting ready in the Great State of Texas to go after Chip in the Primary. He won’t have a chance!”
