Penny & Vance: The Alliance Nobody Saw Coming!

Daniel Penny, a Marine Corps veteran recently acquitted of criminal charges, has accepted an invitation from Vice President-elect JD Vance to attend the Army-Navy football game in Maryland this Saturday. The iconic rivalry game, held annually, will provide a backdrop for Penny’s first public appearance since his high-profile trial.

Penny, 26, faced national scrutiny earlier this year after restraining Jordan Neely in a chokehold during a tense subway encounter in New York City. Witnesses claimed Neely threatened passengers before Penny intervened. On Monday, a jury cleared Penny of criminally negligent homicide charges, marking a pivotal victory for the Marine veteran.

“Daniel’s a good guy, and New York’s mob district attorney tried to ruin his life for having a backbone,” Vance stated Friday on X, praising Penny’s courage under pressure. “I’m grateful he accepted my invitation [to attend the Army-Navy game] and hope he’s able to have fun and appreciate how much his fellow citizens admire his courage.”
