On Monday, Comcast revealed its intention to consolidate several cable properties, including MSNBC, CNBC, and the USA Network, into a separate publicly traded entity. The new venture will also feature networks like Oxygen, E!, SYFY, and the Golf Channel. Notably, Comcast will retain key NBCUniversal assets such as NBC News, Bravo, and its streaming service, Peacock.

Comcast President Mike Cavanagh addressed the restructuring in a company memo, calling it a “tax-free spin to existing shareholders.” He noted that while a precise timeline has not been established, the transition is expected to take about a year.
