The plaintiffs, ordinary Dutch citizens, say they were deceived into taking the COVID-19 vaccine based on promises that it would prevent transmission, eliminate the need for masks, and guarantee that the vaccinated would not fall ill or die from the virus. Instead, they argue that the vaccines caused severe and lasting physical and mental harm. Tragically, one of the seven plaintiffs has passed away since the lawsuit was filed, leaving six to continue the legal battle.
In their lawsuit, the plaintiffs presented various statements made by Gates, including a YouTube video from April 2020 titled “The Race for a COVID-19 Vaccine, Explained,” as evidence that Gates misrepresented the safety and necessity of the vaccines.
Despite Gates’ legal team’s efforts to have the case dismissed, the Dutch court ruled that it does indeed have jurisdiction to hear the claims. On October 16, 2024, the Leeuwarden District Court announced that Gates, who is an American citizen, could still be held accountable under Dutch law.
Independent researcher and journalist Penny Marie provided insight into the court’s decision, explaining that Gates’ lawyers attempted to argue that he should not be subject to legal proceedings in the Netherlands. However, the court rejected this defense, pointing out that Gates’ actions were closely connected to other defendants and that the claims against him warranted joint proceedings.
The court’s judgment was clear:
“As the court understands, [redacted] et al. argue that Hofstra et al., and therefore Gates, are part of a worldwide group of individuals, legal entities, and other entities that, in the context of the implementation of a project called COVID-19: The Great Reset, have misled people into taking COVID-19 injections, while they knew or should have known that these injections were not safe and effective.”
The ruling further stated that Gates’ foundation was not explicitly named in this case, and the court dismissed the notion that it would hold the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation responsible for Gates’ individual actions in this matter.

In addition to being ordered to stand trial, Gates has been required to pay the plaintiffs’ legal fees. The court specified that Gates must cover €1,228.00 ($1,326.17) for their lawyer’s fees, plus an additional €178.00 ($192.23) for other legal expenses. Should Gates fail to comply within 14 days, an additional penalty of €92.00, along with service costs, will be added to the total.
The next hearing is scheduled for November 27, 2024, when Gates will be required to answer the allegations against him in Dutch court.
This case is seen as a potential game-changer in the ongoing debate surrounding the global response to the COVID-19 pandemic and vaccine safety. While Gates has been a staunch advocate for widespread vaccination, this lawsuit presents a stark challenge to his public health legacy. The plaintiffs are ordinary citizens who, after trusting global health leaders, claim to have suffered greatly as a result of the vaccines they received.
The legal proceedings are likely to draw attention from both supporters and critics of the global COVID-19 vaccination effort, making this trial a pivotal moment in the ongoing evaluation of how governments and individuals handled the pandemic.
The plaintiffs argue that they are standing up not just for themselves, but for millions who were pressured into taking the vaccine without being fully informed of the potential risks. Should the court find in their favor, it could open the door to further litigation against other high-profile individuals and entities involved in promoting COVID-19 vaccines.
With the next hearing just weeks away, the world will be watching closely to see how this unprecedented trial unfolds.
