A small town near Cincinnati, Ohio, is grappling with an overwhelming influx of illegal immigrants from Mauritania, a West African nation long troubled by security concerns. The town of Lockland, which once enjoyed a quiet, small-town atmosphere, now faces a crisis of epic proportions as hundreds of Mauritanian nationals flood into the area, pushing local resources to the brink.
Lockland Village Administrator Doug Wehmeyer recently told Fox News, “If you look at 2021, 2022, the United States had seen a huge influx of immigrants from Mauritania. Somehow, a good number of them have landed in Lockland.” The rapid and unexpected arrival of these individuals has placed the town in a state of emergency.

According to a recent analysis by The Washington Post, the number of illegal immigrants from Mauritania entering the U.S. skyrocketed in 2023. Over 15,000 illegal aliens from the small African nation crossed into the country last year—a staggering 2,800% increase compared to 2022, when only 543 individuals were recorded entering the U.S.
