Harris, however, had initially rushed to Smollett’s defense, describing the event as an “attempted modern-day lynching.”
Despite the overwhelming evidence proving the hoax, Harris never apologized for her hasty and misguided comments. Her refusal to admit any wrongdoing further exemplifies her tendency to double down on radical, baseless claims. A clip circulating online even shows Harris fumbling when asked about her initial defense of Smollett, providing no clear answers and once again dodging responsibility.

Throughout the video, Harris echoes the chant a staggering 11 times, firmly solidifying her anti-immigration enforcement stance. For those who were still unsure about her views on illegal immigration, this footage provides irrefutable evidence. Harris has consistently demonstrated that she favors open borders, where illegal immigrants can cross into the country without consequence.
This troubling stance has become even more relevant since July when Kamala Harris was thrust into the top position on the Democratic ticket following President Biden’s unexpected departure from the 2024 race. Despite her attempts to present herself as tough on border security, the reality is far different. Even mainstream media outlets have called her out on her contradictory position.
For instance, in a rare moment of pushback, CNN’s Dana Bash asked Harris last month why the Biden administration waited over three years before taking any substantial action on border security. Harris, predictably, had no solid explanation, further highlighting her disconnect from the gravity of the border crisis.
CNN’s Erin Burnett also expressed shock earlier this month when learning that in 2019, Harris supported “taxpayer-funded gender care and transition surgeries for detained migrants.” This is yet another example of Harris’ extreme and out-of-touch policies. While voters may have compassion, there are limits. Expecting hard-working Americans to foot the bill for surgeries for individuals who entered the country illegally is beyond the pale.
The latest resurfaced video from the 2018 rally serves as a reminder of Harris’ true views on immigration and her willingness to associate with discredited figures like Jussie Smollett. Her actions at the rally, combined with her failure to hold herself accountable for defending Smollett, paint a clear picture of a leader who is unfit for office.
In fact, this video should be on a loop in Trump campaign ads from now until November, a glaring reminder of the radical agenda Harris supports and her disingenuous approach to law and order. As Americans continue to grapple with the consequences of unchecked immigration, the last thing the country needs is a leader who is soft on deportation and willing to play fast and loose with the facts.
