In a recent statement, CNN’s Chris Wallace made it clear that Vice President Kamala Harris has no intention of stepping into the ring with former President Donald Trump for a debate on Fox News. The veteran journalist didn’t mince words, expressing certainty that Harris would avoid such a confrontation, given her history with the network.
“There is an absolutely 0 percent — what’s lower than 0? — chance that she would agree to debate on Fox,” Wallace stated during an appearance on CNN News Central. His bold prediction follows Trump’s August 3rd challenge to Harris to debate him on Fox News, a challenge that has so far gone unanswered.

Wallace’s comments shed light on Harris’ long-standing reluctance to engage with Fox News. Recalling an incident from 2019, when Harris was a Democratic presidential candidate, Wallace shared an anecdote that adds context to his assertion. “Back in 2019 when she was running, the president of Fox News and I, who was seen as being pretty even-handed, went to meet with a bunch of the Democrats to try and get them to do town halls or do an interview,” Wallace explained. He noted that other prominent Democrats, including Elizabeth Warren and Bernie Sanders, were open to meeting with the Fox team. However, Harris was the sole Democrat who refused to even meet with them off the record.
