In a letter to FBI Director Christopher Wray, Comer criticized the FBI for not providing requested information regarding Walz’s interactions with Chinese entities. “The FBI’s silence regarding Mr. Walz’s documented relations with CCP affiliates is inexcusable,” the letter stated. “The Committee must understand the full extent of Mr. Walz’s ties to the CCP. In short, such ties appear myriad and substantial.”
In response to the report, Wang has downplayed his ties to China, claiming that his only remaining connections are his elderly parents, who still live in the country. In an email to the DCNF, Wang stated, “My elderly parents are my only ties to China.”

However, it has been noted that Wang’s profile on the University of Minnesota’s website has been altered in recent years. Previous versions of the website listed his affiliation with CAPD, but the current version omits any mention of the organization, adding to suspicions about transparency.
