BREAKING: IDF Soldier Shoots American Protester!

An American citizen, Aysenur Ezgi Eygi, was tragically killed during a pro-Palestinian demonstration in the West Bank on Friday, when Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) opened fire on the crowd. The 26-year-old U.S. national, who also held Turkish citizenship, was fatally shot near Nablus, where the protest took place. The protest, initially peaceful, escalated when participants reportedly began throwing stones at Israeli soldiers, which led to the soldiers firing live ammunition into the crowd. Eygi was struck by a bullet in the head, dying at the scene.

The IDF has defended its actions, stating they were targeting a “main instigator of violent activity.” Eygi, however, was unarmed, and witnesses on the scene have questioned whether she posed any threat at the time of the shooting. Two witnesses reported that the situation had calmed down before Eygi was shot, and she was not actively participating in any violent activity at the time of her death.

The Biden administration quickly responded to the incident, with State Department spokesperson Matthew Miller offering condolences and stating that the U.S. government is “urgently gathering more information about the circumstances of her death.” The White House added that it was “deeply disturbed” by Eygi’s death, urging Israel to open an investigation into the incident to ensure transparency.
